Good sushi in Windsor… Small, quaint place, quiet atmosphere. Great also for take out sushi…

This is probably my favourite restaurant in the UK. I’ve been a regular for 4 years now. I go at least once a week, sometimes several. It’s more like my dining room at this point. From typical dishes like sushi and tempura to their curries and lovely bentos, the selection is quite impressive for such a small place. All the sushi is handmade on the spot by the local chef in the small bar on the dining area, with fresh ingredients. Hot dishes are made in the kitchen. Meat dishes are usually very good and the rice is always perfect. I think the ramen dishes could use a bit more flavour sometimes, but they are still quite good and a very good option on cold days. The service is very friendly and attentive. If you order green tea or water your cup will be refilled whenever it’s empty. I’ve also ordered food from them a few times for a party at work and the service has been outstanding, always on time and exceptional quality, everybody loved the food. The decoration is minimalist, wood and low light, quite relaxing and people usually keep quiet. So it’s a good place to enjoy a peaceful evening, on your own or with a friend or two after a long day at work.

The quality of the food is excellent and hits the spot if you fancy sushi. Very big variety on the menu from sashimi to noodles to bento boxes, all cooked to a delicious standard. Décor is simple and the staff are eager to give recommendations.

Used to be great a year or so ago — have eaten here on a few occasions. The food is good, though has gone downhill recently. Sushi invariably excellent and fresh but cooked dishes like tempura prawns are getting soggier, and some of the meat/noodle dishes appear frighteningly quickly which smacks of reheat. Not good enough considering the prices. Nice atmosphere although the staff can be very curt for Japanese — they are clearly in a hurry to close if you come in late and provide the bill without being prompted, stand around and generally make it clear they wish to close up. This happens at 10.30 despite the fact that they advertise 11pm and can make you feel quite uncomfortable. Come earlier if you want to have a relaxed meal.

Been here a couple of times now and enjoyed the food on both occasions. The food is fresh and, as far as I can tell, is tasty, well-prepared and sufficient. Although I’m not really qualified in this area as I’m not Japanese, so I couldn’t tell you how authentic any of it is! The décor is understated, clean and comfortable and the service is top notch. Well worth a visit.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Windsor and perhaps the South East. It’s tucked away on St Leonard’s Road in Windsor, just a short ten minute walk from Windsor town centre. It’s small, but you can usually get a table. The décor is simple — wooden tables, black lacquer and intimate lighting. But the food is the best thing about this place. A substantial menu of sushi(all made fresh) plus lots of other interesting small dishes, bento boxes, noodles and rice. I usually go for the same thing — a steak taktaki bento box and their amazing deep fried gyozas. The gyozas are cooked in the lightest tempura batter and are delivered to your table crispy and piping hot — a refreshing change from the slightly doughy, grilled variety. The bento boxes offer the tenderest beef with their magic dressing(a little sour), crispy chicken balls in breadcrumbs, salad, some extra gyozas and rice. Prices are pretty reasonable — a bento box costs around £12.
