No Longer a Family business that cares Customer # 152543526 I placed an order for £419.72 of goods Oct 27. I received £106.82 of goods. There has been NO attempt to contact me or refund or compensate. Apparently because it’s «Yodel’s fault»(although the items are back in Lakeland’s warehouse) I’m not getting my money back? #CSFAIL. I remember Lakeland when it was a family business that cared; when it sold only striped freezer bags. Clearly the money I have spent at Lakeland over the past 34 years means NOTHING. Could this CS response BE any less caring or any more cold and automated: «Thanks for getting back in touch with us about your recent order. I’m sorry to hear that part of your order was missing. I’ve checked with our parcel team and found out that this parcel only had one consignment, however this did go in two parcels. We now think Yodel looked at the consignment numbers and thought it was a duplicate and returned this back to Lakeland. Please could you list all the items that were missing. I’ll then check the stock and we’ll get them sent on a quick delivery to the London delivery address» How about — we are DEEPLY sorry that we have held your money hostage for 3 months? How about an apology that sounded the least bit sincere?

Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for food and cooking. Kitchen gadgets and cookbooks are my weakness and I’m always on the lookout for more of these Lakeland started off life as Lakeland Plastics, selling special bags for food storage and cooking and has developed into a general cookery store with rapid growth throughout the UKin the last few years. In fact, a Lakelands store opening in your town could be the sign that you’ve finally made it officially into middle class! On our recent holiday to the Lake District, the girlfriend and I had to pop into their flagship store, which was locate right next to Windermere train station — in fact, you can drive through the station car park to get to it As befits a flagship store, they have a fountain and an impressive building. There’s a café on the first floor, which had a waiting list when we arrived and the shopfloor is on the ground floor There are Lakland products laid out in easy to find fashion that you can browse to your heart’s content. I remember coming here years ago and wanting to buy the entire shop. However, on this visit, I enjoyed looking round but there was really nothing which I wanted to buy for the kitchen Having just been to Sur la Table and Williams Sonoma in the USA, Lakeland seems more for the fun cook. Where was the serious knife counter with a professional to advise on the best blade for a specific task and for you? Actually, I think the presence of more staff to tell you about their new fin range of cookware, the sous vide water baths and the fun looking cook in the cup cake mugs would have made it a more fun experience. Perhaps some demonstration stations I may have outgrown Lakeland but I’m glad that it’s there to encourage people to get into the kitchen more

I am about to rain on people’s parade. I haven’t visited the store in Cumbria, but used their online service. I cannot argue about the gadgets, and wide range of appliances, I can say the delivery stinks. I ordered something on the 30÷9÷13, and paid £2.99(£3s in my book), it was finally delivered on the 7⁄1013. I’m sorry but it wasn’t a large item; they have to get slicker. There’s an organisation based in Hull, and the item was bigger, but they promised next day delivery if ordered before 1am on the day of delivery, and free!!! £2.99, and it takes 7 days… This ain’t good in the world of e-commerce. The item is much loved by my wife, else I’d have dropped it down to a 2 star. That is the impact you have on people’s expectations and perception. I hope they read these reviews, and think hard about their delivery policy, or whoever they deal with for their deliveries, in this case it was HERMES(not quite the Olympian God).

Excellent store, everything you need for the kitchen and very reasonable. You could spend a few hours browsing the different goods and you can find unsual kitchen ware. Great for gifts. Enjoy a meal within the store. Plenty of parking Highley recommended and cannot wait to return

Wow, how I love this shop, whenever we are in the lakes we always have to come here — no matter how far the journey! There is a large car park with a member of staff usually at the entrance to direct you to the available spaces. Once inside the store it is light and spacious, they make the most of the glass surrounding the building to bring the outdoors inside. The store is beautifully laid out with all the goods that Lakeland stock, in the various sections such as laundry, gifts, cookware, storage, books. They also have a corner for the marked down goods. Upstairs there are a few computers for customer use which is great — I can have 5 minutes peace whilst my son has a browse on there. There is also a fantastic café — gorgeous cakes and a wide selection of drinks, all fabulous. There is often a long wait for the café so we tend to go and book our place in the queue, go and shop and we are called when a table is free — great service as always

This is the real Lakeland shop — it used to be called lakeland plastics — but had an ecological name change a few years ago. They know how to make a nice shopping experience for all the family. There is a small kids little play area, newspapers and comfy seats for the men(to keep them out of the way) and everything you never knew you needed for the kitchen for the women!(sorry about the sterotype!) Seriously a great store and the best customer service in the whole wide world — it really is first class — nothing is ever a problem. There is also a fantastic café and free internet access on 4 computers.

This store is possibly one of the most widely visited stores for day trippers I have ever come across. There are always many bus loads of old people in the car park when I visit. Having said that it’s usually easy to find a parking space. The building itself is a eye-pleasing combination of local stone and glass. Inside there is plenty of room and a wide variety of products for all of your kitchen needs. I have bought a few things over the years and have never been disappointed with the cost or quality of the goods. Of special mention has to be the toilets. I don’t normally covet toilets but these are special, decorated in local stone and attractive mood lighting. They are very clean, possibly even polished! My only complaint about this shop would be that while it is easy to get into, it’s really difficult to get back out. The road layout makes it almost impossible to safely return to the main roadmore of a press the pedal and pray situation.

This store is at the head office, Its a huge impressive store, There are fountains outside and lots of glass and its very impressive, They have loads of offers not normally found in the usual lakeland. Always lots of staff to help. Huge selection and even has a café. Free parking for shoppers I(unusual in the lake district) They seem to sell more than the usual store too and the shop is impeccably clean
