I’m unsure about here. For a long time, I would simply ignore it, but since the closing of its rival store opposite, I’ve been forced to queue here to get a hot meal. Now don’t get me wrong, the food here isn’t bad by any means; they have a good range of meals, including wedges, soups, and of course pasties, but I was left with the feeling that it could have been better. It costs £3 for a medium pasty, and that felt kinda dodgy. Overall, it’s OK, but definitely could be better.

After a night of too much partying(vodka jelly’s dangerous stuff) and a morning of too much sight-seeing, the West Cornwall Pasty Company was the exact oasis I needed to feel make my head and stomach feel right as rain again. From the moment we entered to the moment we left, the place was busy, busy, busy — always a sign of a business producing and doing something consistently excellent in my opinion(then again, this has been a speciality of Cornwall for a couple centuries as it used to be the preferred food for tin miners in the 1600/1700’s, so it’s safe to assume these folks know what they’re doing!) Not quite feeling up to the steak and stilton option yet, I ordered the pork, apple, and stuffing version. The hot, baked to golden perfection pasty came in a black sleeve and was about the size of a small pizza folded in half. The interior was positively stuffed with soft, flavorful potato and swede, sweet Bramley apple sauce, hearty stuffing, and juicy pork. I have tried countless times to recreate this delicious flavor profile on my own, but can’t seem to capture the same magic WCPC does! I loved every bite of my pasty, and felt sufficiently full(and, truth be told, a thousand times less hungover) after breaking for one. We could have very easily grabbed our pasties to go like so many other people were doing, but I enjoyed sitting upstairs and leisurely enjoying both the dish and the comfortable, seaside-decorated atmosphere. Should I find myself in England again, I would definitely treat myself(and drag my guests) to West Cornwall Pasty Co. especially considering they have vegetarian and vegan options(thinking about the«Davidstow Cheese & Onion» pasty makes my mouth water).

I wanted something not too large for lunch and this place did just the thing. There was a reasonable choice of pasties and plenty of seats upstairs. I wouldn’t hesitate to come again.
