The Fox and Hounds

Stopped by for Sunday lunch. Had the Hog Roast with Apple sauce on a bun and 3 types of salad (potato, Apple and cold slaw). Topped with some really crunchy crackling! Sat out in the garden to eat and washed it down with a pint of traditional British IPA. Great way to spend a Sunday lunch time.

I enjoyed the very friendly greeting from the bar staff Namely Nikki Love, Tanya, and another Nikki. I was taken my sick sister out to lunch. My table number was 77 and I ordered drinks and food at 12.45. It appeared that there was some hostility with the Romanian members of staff, which could have subdued the very warm and friendly welcome.
My sister and I sat outside t enjoy a beautiful tuesday weather.
The mood changed for us as we were still waiting for a jacket potato, and burger at 2.00. When it arrived after I had enquired three times about the delay, the burger had been overcooked, or left standing on a hot plate and the bun was more like a crisp.
At 2.15 I ordered a desert which arrived at 2.45, not babd for a heated apple pie and custard.
I mentioned my concern to the staff and Nikki Love was very professional in the way she handled this matter. She of course deleted the item from the account, and commented that the warm weather had taken them all by surprise.
I would return to the Fox and Hounds again without hesitation to enjoy the ambience of the members of staff mentioned. But i would have to have eaten before as the wait is totally unacceptable. Robert Pridham

Another Gem of the traditional English Pub, revamped and modernized with new furnishings is a welcome warm and cozy place to come for lunch or dinner, they do excellent beef burgers here.
Set back from the main road with private off road parking making easy access and wheel chair friendly, there is a childrens playing area in the garden. Additional seating outside the front and rear of the building comes good service and polite manner, the Fox and Hounds is a Gem

I agree, this is a lovely place with nice food.
