Amazing new little bar that has opened been in a few times a little pricey but other than that excellent would recommend it if your waiting for a train as it is right across from the station yet to try the food but definitely will be doing

Wow! Went in after wandering Wigan in the rain. What a great stop. An excellent beer selection, enjoyed a couple of the place’s belgian style lager’s. Then tried the Chicken Schnitzel with the most amazing Mac and Cheese. Wow. Service was solid. Décor is like a taste of home, but with an english twist. Looking forward to trying at least 1 other dish there this week.

This is a new bar grill/restaurants this place should have opened it doors in July but finally it opened up just over a week ago Iv been in a couple off times and all I can say is how nice it is inside. This place use to be the old pooled pies shop/restaurant but closed it doors many years ago and nw reopened as a bar grill/restaurant and what a transformation they done there plenty off seats downstairs and there seating upstairs aswell or if you perfair you can sit at the bar. The staff are really nice and welcoming Iv not tryed the food yet but it smells nice when you walk in.

Had a great birthday meal there last week. Nice food, good service and the cocktails were awesome — particular the Maple && Pecan one! Definitely will be coming back!

The new addition to Wigan’s new bar/restaurant culture is Marty’s and I’ve been waiting for this place to open for a couple of months now and finally it opened it’s doors on monday and I’ve already been in every day since ;) Located in the old pooles pie shop & café this place is amazing and superbly situated straight across the road from northwestern train station. The owners have done a great job transforming this old pie shop that was derelict for year’s into a lovely bar & restaurant and made great use of a pretty small space. The bar is situated as soon as you enter with 4 lagers on tap Budweiser, Marty’s, Brooklyn & Brahma. Although this is officially Wigan’s most expensive place for a pint being £3.95 for the cheapest it’s definitely worth it. Stools are available at the bar & a great window seat too people watch. There’s tables in another room facing the bar and more tables upstairs. I’ve not tried the food yet but it certainly smelt nice & other customers seemed to be enjoying it. Lovely clean toilets situated upstairs. The staff we’re very attentive and helpful. The owner is a really nice guy. And the cocktails looked amazing, I will be trying one soon. If you’re passing through wigan try here you won’t be disappointed.
