Went with a party of four on a Monday night. Relatively small menu, but all four dishes were really enjoyed by all. Service was good. Well maintained and clean.

RUDESTAFFWITHSTINKINGATTITUDES!!! I have been in this pub a few times with the family and had a reasonable experience, however yesterday the 5 of us visited and I was appalled by the customer service we received. Pulling faces behind customers back and making gestures is just plain rude. We highlighted this and then left. I think the staff here need a massive amount of training. We went across the road to a rustic pub and it was amazing service with good food.

Slow slow service on a Wednesday lunch. The food was mediocre at best. The bread and lemon was stale and disguised by toasting and searing. None of the waiting staff knew who ordered what, but they did get the order right. Great location. Disappointing given the décor and the price.

Went for Saturday lunch. This place is stinkin’ cute! Cosy, rustic space with multiple, intimate dining spaces, and at least two fireplaces that I could see. My husband ordered a chicken dish and chips and thought that his meal was great. He also ordered a pint of the Doombar and loved it. I had a sip and agreed. I started with a cup of mint tea(jammed with fresh mint leaves), and the soup of the day, a tomato soup. I also ordered the mushroom, onion and feta tart for my entrée. While I didn’t think that my meal was great, it was good, and certainly enjoyable. The onions in the tart were carmelized which made the dish slightly sweeter than I cared for, but what can ya’ do? I gave The Minnow 4 stars because my husband loved his meal, the atmosphere is wonderfully warm and inviting, and it was a nice family-friendly spot for a Saturday afternoon. Lots of babies and children(all quite calm and relaxed) with their families, which was nice since my husband and I stopped by with our 3-year old daughter. Such a lovely spot to visit and pass the time away!

Went here for Sunday lunch yesterday — well advised to book in advance as this place gets busy. Overall we were delighted with the food, atmosphere and décor at The Minnow. Only thing is that the service was slow, however on this occassion it wasn’t an issue at all at it was a long lazy Sunday lunch! We did have to ask for used glasswear and bottles to be cleared off the table as well as having to chase for a waiter as the lovely roasts were delivered but we were not offered any sauces to accompany the beef. I would definately recommend this place and I look forward to visiting it again in the next few weeks.

Well, what can i say? My partner and I hit the Minnow tonight purely by accident(I got lost going to the Thames Court) and what a great mistake to make. Normally you HAVE to pre book a table luckily for us there was a table. Unfortunately while waiting for our food we were asked politely to move tables due to an over booking. This is when I thought the night would go down hill. But how wrong was I? For starters I ordered the cray fish and prawn cocktail and my partner ordered the seasonal scallops, for mains we had the hog roast sausages and mash with port sauce and herb lamb new potato’s and seasonal veg, The prawn cocktail was a blast from the past if your from the 80s nothing really to write home about but the scallops! Oh my god, they were perfect in every way. The hog roast sausages with the mash was surprisingly very pleasant with the port sauce giving it a wonderful texture to the dish. The lamb wow! I’m not sure if there is space on the review to write about it. All I can say is that I have eaten in many many places, and if you have seen the size of me you know I am not over exaggerating. But back to the lamb… It was the best tasting lamb that I could ever recall eating, absolutely first class(top marks to the chef) Dessert was kept simple just a champagne jelly and a coffee. At the end of a really fine evening the bill came and for the inconvenience of the table move coffee was on the house, total only £64. Well recommended, and I will defiantly venture to the Minnow in the future. 10 out of 10

Lovely food, but book before hand or arrive early as it gets packed out!

Tried this recently with some friends and it’s definitely a hit. The décor and ambience are inviting and relaxing. The variety of the menu is good, the food and the presentation are excellent. Two courses with wine cost circa £23-£28. Make sure you book at weekends.

The Minnow is great in the summer as the outside seating area is large and well designed, although it gets busy early at lunchtimes and weekends. Inside, it is dark and warm with comfy sofas. On several visits, the service has been somewhat lacking with a couple of very long waits for the food, and slightly disinterested staff, although these instances have been in the minority rather than the majority. The menu is good, if slightly expensive, but the food has always been good.

I really like the Minnow. It has a great setting, very close to the river and a good outside seating area although this sun trap can get very busy in the summer(assuming we have one). The inside is mainly dining area rather than bar area. The food is great with daily specials and a modern mixed menu, offering everything from warm salads, meze for two, seafood risotto and pizza of the day. The desserts can be to die for. They usually bring round bread and oil to help get you going to but don’t eat too much of it as you won’t have room for afters. A good choice of sharing plates too. Definitely worth booking at the weekend otherwise you might be disappointed.

Good value Bistro, with the added advantage of lots of outdoor seating for sunny days, and warm evenings, which is great and a curse. because it is either averagely full or amazingly busy which can affect service times for food and the bar. Always best to book if dining inside and specify the square light area on the right or the bar area, there is a rear area, but I find this little dark and claustrophobic, I suppose it’s the best area for discrete assignations. And if it’s a day for outside a least one of you get there early and grab a table. This isn’t at all meant to sound negative, it’s one of those places you can enjoy more if you get organised. December.Went with a party of 28, we prebooked the food, it was served very efficiently, and everybody had a good time, the chicken option was very big, doggy bags to the fore.
