Husband had burger, loved it, great flavor & bun & chips were excellent. Child had fish & chips & even tho no children’s menu gave her a hearty portion for ½ the price of regular meal.

I had fried calamari as starter and chicken bacon avocado salad as main. The fried calamari was a disappointment. It was crispy. …but the calamari was overcooked and the batter has no taste at all. Salad was alright. It is a pub so I am not expecting good salad.

Best Sunday night pub dinner I’ve had in a long time. The staff is the best in this place. So friendly and helpful. Thanks for making us feel like we lived in the neighborhood even though we were visiting from the US!

They claim to use locally-sourced, British ingredients in their food. It certainly struck me as «traditional.» During the day, it’s lit by England’s perpetually gray skies through the large windows all around the place. The service was friendly and good. The Sunday roast was… well, stereotypically British. I found the inclusion of snow peas to be a bit odd… but, otherwise, the cabbage, crispy well-roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and nice mint-jelly met expectations. The lamb was a bit tougher than I expected. Lamb roast was 13 quid, beef 14 quid. Sunday roast is served from 12−8pm. This is a well-behaved, somewhat sedate, nice traditional pub. In the evenings, it’s exceptionally well-lit. If you’re keen to «keep it respectable,» the complete lack of shadows will likely«keep everyone honest.»
