Atlantic Fish Bar was recommended to us by my brother-​in-​law, and it was well worth the visit. It’s slightly out of the way, as it’s not on the waterfront — BUT, you do get to see a little bit more of Weston-​Super-​Mare and appreciate how quaint it is.
We had a cod and chips (yes, I know it’s not eco-​friendly, but how can I do a proper comparison against other fish and chip shops? I would have to go back round them all again, eating something else… although, that sounds rather appealing now!) and a grilled mackerel bap (taking the recommended eco-​friendly option… so it was balanced, sort of…). Anyways, both were really good — the cod had an extremely crispy and light batter, which I was impressed with. However, the winning dish for us was the mackerel bap — we don’t eat much mackerel at home, but will be trying it more often now. Have it grilled with horse radish or tartare sauce — it’s really great (we even ordered one to take away for the rest of the family!). As further evidence of how good the food is, we had just eaten a piece of haddock from one of the fish and chip shops on the waterfront (we were on a fish and chips mission) — and still managed to clear our plates! Hehe…
Really enjoyed it and would go back next time we are in Weston-​Super-​Mare.

Not impressed, sold out of vegetable rolls so only other option was boring veggie burger! Took my visitors to this place based on the reviews, they said their fish and chips were ok, nothing to write home about! We also waited ages to be served, the place was not busy, in the end i had to go and find someone! Also the condiment containers were really dirty, especially the vinegar bottle which had stale vinegar caked all over the top, very off putting, we looked on the other tables but they were all the same!!! will not be visiting again, prefer my eating places to be more hygenic!
Back to the fish place named like my dad :)

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT NO-​ONE HAS POSTED A REVIEW SINCE MY LAST. i AM NOW A REGULAR CUSTOMER OF THE ATLANTIC, IT IS BRILLIANT… Definately the best of the best. Find it in Meadow Street, which is past the Silica, away from the seafront. Delicious food take-​away or sit in. Not only fish and chips, serves other food, but the fish and chips are to die for!
The Atlantic has now joined the «Fish Fight» started by Hugh Whittingstall. They are offerring all types of different fish at very reasonable prices. This place is such good value for money and can’t rate it high enough.

This is possibly the best fish and chips restaurant in Weston Super Mare, which is saying something because there’s quite a few of them.
What sets this place apart from the others is the combination of great food at very affordable prices. A winning combination as far as I’m concerned and what I’m looking for in a good fish and chip restaurant.
The restaurant itself is traditional and in keeping with its seaside location, but done with a touch of care befitting the standards set by the menu. The staff are always very welcoming and the service is second to none.
It’s not quite on the sea front so you’ll have to venture off the beaten track slightly (about 200 yards) But if you’re in Weston and want a traditional taste of the seaside, forget about the overpriced dross on the water front. This is the place to come to.

We (my Wife and I) discovered The Atlantic Fish Bar & Restaurant only a couple of years ago during a casual trip to Weston-​s-​Mare from Bath where we live.
Having tried a number of other F+C’s restaurants in W-​S-​M and given that we set out to have a Fish & Chips meal we never eat anywhere else in the town!
In our opinion the quality and value for money of this Bar’s F+C’s is second to none, which I believe is partly due to the fact that they buy their fish from a single source up on the northeast coast.
Long may the current owners continue to serve their superb product it’s the best of the best and their service is great as well.
