Yan’s Garden is a decent Chinese takeaway which at 10pm on a Friday night is all you want. I live in Old Kilpatrick, around a five minute drive from Yan’s, and have found them to be reliable. Unlike other popular takeaways, they deliver on a Friday and Saturday night. I always order vegetable chow mein.

Yan’s is not, in actual fact, a garden but rather a Clydebank Chinese takeaway. And a very good one too. With extremely reasonable prices, Yan’s offers all the standard Chinese fare as well as an extensive list of surprisingly not-absoluetly-horrific European dishes. Being the creature of habit I am, I can heartily recommend the chicken chow mein, which has always left my tastebuds satisfied and my heart appropriately sore the following morning. The one downside is that deliveries can sometimes take a while, particularly on weekends, and particularly if you’re phoning to order a bouquet of rhododendrons and a packet of French Marigold seeds.
