The Preston used to be my local. I never really fully enjoyed it until I moved out of the area. Yes I remember it being cosy and great place for groups. «Just mighty fine lookin pub» I did have a meal here, but what stood out was the desert I had. Chocolate pidding with chocolate sauce dropping down beautifully with cream on the side. My taste buds at the point was exploding. I don’t live in the area anymore but if I had the off chance to attend I will.

Meal for a group of friends and we’d decided as we’d eaten out the night before we’d just join them for drinks and maybe dessert. So glad we didn’t eat there! The arrangement had been for diners to get there for 7.30 so we thought it we got there after 8, we’d probably be in time for dessert with them. When we arrived, they’d had starters and some of the group had been served a main. My husband went to the bar and got ignored while the tall chap behind the bar served a customer: first one cup of tea; then went and got a small jug of milk; then went and got another cup of tea — and then more milk — all for one and the same customer! He waited and waited and waited — all to get 2 glasses of Coke — and finally gave up. I then went to the bar and the lady asked if I was«with the gentleman who didn’t get served?» She apologised and made excuses but I told her that he’d waited so long — he can’t stand for such a long time — he’s disabled and she could see he walks with a stick. Having apologised she then served 2 large glasses of Coke telling me ‘I’ll cover this’. She then came over and spoke to my husband to apologise for the delay. When more main meals came out, it seemed there was total confusion over who was having what. Someone had ordered fishcakes but they’d been given to someone else! The tall chap didn’t seem to have much of a clue who had ordered what and, for some people, they were receiving their meal longer after others had finished theirs. It seemed like there were only 2 staff front of house, the gormless tall chap and the lady I’ve just mentioned. The venue itself is nicely decorated and seems to have a ‘homely’ ambiance. Frankly, this pub-restaurant is under-staffed and management desperately need to address this if they intend to stay in business!

Nice pub for locals. The fireplace looks good in the evening and makes you feel home. They provide a variety of drinks and food. I have tried the steak meal and it is acceptable.

Nice clean pub with separated eating and hang out spots. Has an ATM. Had a good time and enjoyed the variety of foods. Family friendly as we found out with our group of twelve including four kids. DT

As Nimz says, good local pub if you live nearby. The fireplaces make it quite cozy. It’s a good pub to hang out with friends as they have a lot of tables and areas of the pub. Their patio is also heated.

The Preston is my local pub. I’m not entirely proud of this fact. There is nothing special about it apart from that it is at the end of my road and within easy stumbling distance after a night out. A few years ago the owner took out the pool table, ripped out the standard 1970s faux Victorian décor and generally turned the pub into a bland, generic suburban drinking hole. I know, I sound bitter but tacky décor and pool tables are what local pubs in London should be about. The one bonus of the refurbishment are the heaters outside which you can control yourself rather than freeze/roast to death at the discretion of a sadistic pub landlord.

This is georgous and cosy pub, it has ample seating and also a large bar area with your usual fruit machines. We normally meet up here for a few drinks first before heading out into Central as the drinks are much cheaper and there’s always lots of seating where you can sit and chat before heading somewhere else. Its a great meeting point.
