Podington Garden Centre

I’ve recently discovered that I absolutely love gardening. Maybe love should be replaced with the word obsession. What started out as only a few cute plants, you know, just to «green up the place,» has morphed into living room JUNGLE obsession. Oh, us silly Americans. Go big or go home.
The good news is that this obsession led me to find Podington Garden Centre. Quite literally in the smack dab of nowhere, this place is gardener’s playground! I only wanted two things: a couple of 60 lt bag of organic soil for my courgettes and tomato plants. I wasn’t expecting to find gardening nirvana. I’m pretty sure Jesus would shop here.
Firstly, this centre is absolutely gorgeous. You have to hand it to these Podintons, they love their gardening! The centre is big, but not Home Base gigantic, and the staff are knowledgeable and genuinely care about their products. I was also shocked to find that the Guinness World Record for Largest Garden Spade was on display! Not sure if it was on the local garden tour, but there it was! I took a picture as proof, too.
Earlier in the day, I called to request a hold on two bags of organic soil. It may seem silly, but after two disappointing visits to Homebase (thanks LOADS you a-​holes for lying to me with your BS reservation!) I wanted to make sure my soil was still there! When I approached the counter my soil was already on a trolly, with my name, patiently waiting up front. Seriously, that’s service! HUGE KUDOS.
My only complaint is, literally, how far away they are from Leamington. It also feels like you’re traveling into the middle of nowhere, when suddenly, this place just appears! Absolutely worth the trip. I can’t wait to go here again and buy more of everything!

p0dington garden centre what can i say. you are very local to us living in rushden the staff are very friendly (95%) we many go there for a look around there pond plants are not very good this year. they have a good rage or pumps and fliter but over priced.
the best thing they did for me was delivery my pond the same day i bough it just a couple of hours later. but had to pay £15 for delivery :(
they have a very nice café which you can watch there koi.

Podington Garden centre is a really nice place to have a browse around in the summer even if you don’t plan on buying anything! It’s quite small compared with some garden centres although there is a good range of shrubs and trees for sale outside.
There is a lovely gift area that also sells foodstuffs such as home made jams, marmalades, cakes and old fashioned style sweets. It has a lovely oldly worldy feel to it. At Christmas time they also have a fantastic range of lights and decorations, although they are quite expensive compared with larger department stores that sell the same sort of things.
There is plenty of parking just outside the centre and there is a lovely café inside. Well worth a visit even if you are just browsing.

I went here for the first time on saturday, its only a few mins from my house and i cant believe i hadnt been before! The kids loved looking around all the christmas bits. They had a good selection of bit on display. We got some fish and the service and advice from the staff was Great! Lovely garden centre, a bit smaller then others but offered a lot more then i would of thought before going!
There is also a café, but we didnt pop in this time, ill save that for next time.

Podington garden centre is a nice place to ship, it has a large area full of some good quality products. We visit probably every two to three months however on the last visit the service was a little poor.
The centre was good when it was a bit smaller and was all about plants, now it has grown bigger it is a little to commerical.

podington garden centre is a lovely garden centre in the centre of a very small and picturesque village and is a bit out of the way from anywhere, a bit difficult to get in as it is on a corner, there is a great deal of parking although in my opinion expensive, it is a nice place just to visit and have a look around, always a large selection of plants and a great selection of gifts and seasonal items plus they have a small confectionary area with a range of sweets and jams etc and a nice coffee shop. at christmas you can visit santa in his grotto, although this can get quite busy my mum and dad took the kids last year and they had a fun time. go see the koi karp as they have some huge examples. they also have a small pet area with fish and hamsters etc.

this lovely garden center has everything plus more you would expect from a garden centre, great café. At christmas its a great place to take kids to see santa

Very local to us, a lovely place to mooch around on a Sunday, they have a fantastic Christmas display where the kids can see Santa, good sized café, easy to find toliets and friendly and helpful staff

A beautiful garden centre with extensive plants for inside and outside the home. They also have a nice café which serves good food. A really lovely place to take the children at Christmas as they also have a lovely animated christmas scene. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful

Nice sized garden centre with a nice sized café with indoor and outdoor seating area, toilets including disabled and baby change, it sells outdoor things, pet things, food, plants and a few other things.
