A really good takeaway chinese. I don’t know if they take telephone orders, because we always walk there and wait while they cook the meals. It is a genuine chinese family business, with the cooks off behind a hatchway, cooking some really wonderful meals. I don’t like to recommend anything as everything I’ve ever tried from here has proved to be delicious, but also sufficient quantity for another meal the next day! There have been a few stand-up routines about this set-up, with one chinese guy reading the paper(up and down) and taking the orders, then calling them through the hatch and the rest of the family all come to peer through at the strange english! This is very like that, but friendly with it. A friend used to come here for his curry and chips — £1.50 in the chippy three doors down, but £4.50 here. When I got one, I understood! This was a lot of good quality beef in a freshly made curry sauce, with plenty of fresh, stir-fried vegetables and obviously handmade chips. What a dream!
