If you live over this side of Bristol and have young children then Ugly Bugs is a great rainy day activity. It’s a soft play and our son enjoyed it even when he was 6 months. There is a large soft play area and café, I’ve not tried the food, but the menu is what you would expect from a greasy spoon so not very exciting! The soft play area also has a a number of toys so it’s great for all ages. It’s quite small so you can also let the little ones run loose while you sit and have a cuppa. It feels very secure so there is no fear of your child escaping! Definitely worth a visit if you are stuck for something to do. You can also book it for a children’s party.

We have been coming to ugly bugs since my son was tiny and we love it. It’s a brilliant soft play centre for younger children. They have a café which offers a good range of food from all day breakfasts to pie and chips and the prices are all pretty reasonable. I usually go for a cheese panini which is served with salad, coleslaw and nacho chips which is £4.95 and a large seating area round the sides so there is always somewhere to sit down. The soft play itself is a little smaller than others we have been to but I like it because I can sit down with a coffee and watch my son without stressing about where he is. They have a big variety of toys to play with which cater for different ages of children so there is plenty to keep the kids entertained. Entry prices are: 0 – 6 months Free 6 – 12 months £1.50 12 months and up £3.50. They also offer a 25% discount on your second paying child which I think is great. I would definitely recommend ugly bugs if you are looking for a cheap place to take the kids which isn’t over stressful. A huge selling point for this place is that all the doors have a push button sensor which is very high up meaning your little ones can’t escape.
