I found myself in Waltham Abbey with an hour to kill. It was lunchtime so I looked for somewhere cheap and pleasant to eat. It wasn’t long before I came across Tony’s Pie N Mash. It immediately reminded me of my dad as he used to take me to get pie and mash often when I was a kid. It’s situated in the square just past the Abbey. If you’re standing in the square you’d have a job to miss it. I was surprised to see people were actually queuing to get in. This made me think it must be good. Inside was clean and spacious. I couldn’t believe how cheap my meal was. With a coffee I paid under £5. The next time I find myself in Waltham Abbey with an hour to kill I’ll probably head back to Tony’s Pie N Mash.

Lumpy cold mash! A cheap pie from maybe lidl? For the amount i paid i think I’m due this moan! I always use the pie and mash in Debden! Which is top notch! Tonys falls well below that! Maybe my problem is i actually know how pie mash should taste and the poor people in Waltham abbey are just used too this place now! Can be certain if Beckham ordered this from the USA, it would go straight back! I can cook this better in a microwave! Although the liquor was nice! Wish i had ordered a cup of that only! Note for tony!. Don’t be cheap on your produce! Or change your name to Tonys café. I will never eat here again!
