Yang’s Chinese Takeaway

Ordered for the first time and we were so disappointed… The food tasted re-​heated the chicken was pink and tough, the chow mien didn’t taste as usual ones do! Not impressed what a waste of money :(

I first tried Yang’s on Christmas Eve and thought the food was pretty good. I had the Kung Pao Chicken and some chips and it was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I really have no complaints about that experience.
Cut to a night this week when we decided to order a takeaway and had company over. We figured we really enjoyed Yang’s last time, so what could possibly go wrong? I mean, we had already tried and enjoyed their food, surely they could do it successfully again.
We ordered some barbecue ribs, sweet chilli beef, chips, and rice. It took over an HOUR for them to deliver it. In my opinion, when you are paying an extra amount for delivery, they really should either refund you the money if it is taking that amount of time or at the very least call you and let you know they’re going to be late. I would have understood, it’s a busy night, you’re running late, even if I am ravenous…
Onto the food! Personally, I didn’t like the sweet chilli beef as I found it too much for my own personal taste. I have a really sensitive palate, though, and a couple of my companions really did like it, so it really was a matter of personal taste. I found the onions to be too much, as well as the sweetness and richness of the sauce. I couldn’t get through it. The barbecue on the ribs is not the barbecue most of us all know and love, it is a Chinese variety and was a bit strange to my palate. Who knows, you may love it.
Chips were good, prices were reasonable. Don’t hate me, but I don’t know what they exactly were. Usually I try to remember those, but we didn’t have a menu and my partner took care of the financial sorting. Don’t think I’d give this place another go just because of this experience, sadly. I thought I had found my go-​to takeaway, but it looks like the search continues…

This is my local Takeaway and it is wonderful)
Yang’s Staff are so Friendly and helpful and the food is consistently excellent. Always lovely and fresh and usually prepared pretty quickly, even though things get very busy during the wend.
The Menu is extensive with all of the usual suspects available and some individual specialities. There is a fantastic chilli chicken dish, similar to a stir fry and this is to die for! Everything else is divine too and never too oily like some.
Yang’s is exceptionally clean and really cares about keeping the Customer happy. It also does deliver, which is great.
Many poeple get Yang’s to cater for events at home, they are simply the best)
