Subway

As you know, a Subway is a Subway is a Subway. It’s not great, but when you’re off out to Yorkshire Sculpture Park with little time to stop off for a proper meal, it’s somewhere to grab sustenance.
I’ve fond memories of this particular branch from my student days. Particularly grabbing late night bites when rather drunk, but on my last visit, I was sober and aware of what I was doing.
I was buying a sandwich, that I wasn’t particularly looking forward to, as I was in serious need of bready stomach filler. Opted for the ‘Italian’ one, with extra cheese, and it was decent enough. Fresh bread, swiftly made, nice staff. It did the job, and the sweet onion sauce is still a good choice to add some flavour.
A guilty admission: I do happen to love their cheese triangle slices.
Really, there’s little more to add.

After drinking for two days solid, you can imagine the state a person would be in right? Well myself and my family/​friends did just that to celebrate my recent birthday, and I’ll hold my hands up and admit that we were pretty rowdy at the end of our second night.
However, when we called into Subway on our way home for a small snack (a foot-​long sub) and the staff noticed that I was adorned in not only a banner, but a banner and a million badges, they insisted that they would not accept a single penny from me for my sandwich.
So thanks Subway for a free meal, you’ve just earned yourself one hell of a loyal customer!

Staff were really great, Sub was delicious but the tables and chairs still ahd other peoples rubbish on them and I had to clean an area away before we could sit to eat :(

I came here after a night out in Wakey once, and it was like some kind of safe haven where I could take my shoes off (they were making my feet very, very ouchy) and have a nap while my friend queued up for me.
I am knocking off two stars though because the woman serving me actually did as I asked and kept piling my sub with gherkins until I said stop, and as a result I was very poorly and my sick was green.
