we used to love this place and a few years back it won«best restaurant» but something has changed– the food quality has gone down and i think that might be because they are trying to serve too many people. if they can up their game again then we will go back but sadly for them the competition in Wakey is high now the Jinnah has arrived and the Aagrah will always be top class.

A small Indian restaurant located on Doncaster Road in the town centre of Wakefield. Very friendly staff and good prices, with a selction of the usual indian lagers and popular english beers. Lovely fresh food prepared well with all the usual favourites and items of a little more authentic indian origin, and they even whipped up a Lassi with my Veal jalfrezi which was the most glorious version I’ve ever tried, although probably not something I would want to indulge myself in too often. The place could perhaps do with a lick of paint to bring it up to scratch, but the cosy warm atmosphere and friendly staff make up for this. Recommended.

Red Chilli — possibly the best Indian takeaway(and restaurant) in Wakefield, and almost certainly the one with the most extensive takeaway menu. I have never had a takeaway from Red Chilli that was anything other than yummy: my only possible criticisms is that some of their sauces are a little too sugary and heavy on the colourings. Generally I’m too busy scoffing to worry about it, however. Honestly, the selection is amazing — you want venison? Duck? Every variety of naan and rice you can imagine? Fish? Staff curry? Red Chilli is the place to go. What I do is mark off every selection on the menu as I try it: so I don’t forget, and get to try something new every time! I will say I have had the sag aloo and garlic rice more than once, though: so delicious, who could resist?
