Holmfield House is a historic pub set in the middle of Wakefield Park. It is a hotel as well as a pub and has pleasant grounds. A lovely place to go for a drink on a warm summer afternoon! I have visited intermittently throughout my life, often in childhood spending an hour in the beergarden with my parents after a walk in the park and twenty minutes feeding the ducks on the pond and climbing the trees around the bird houses. The park also has bowling, athletic and tennis facilities: I am sure a drink after engaging in any of these activities would be pleasant also!
