A homely pub with good local ales and an interesting menu. Good music, friendly staff and — given it is relatively remote — a welcoming feel.

This is a lovely friendly village pub with a pleasant view down by the river. Shame that it poured down incessantly during my visit, so there was no hope of sitting outside and taking it all in.
3 real ales were on when I visited; Tribute, Tawney Owl and Exmoor Fox, which made for a good selection. I think after starting with a nice cup of tea I went for the Owl… a good pint!
The pub was quite busy on a weekday lunchtime, a testament to its deserved popularity.
The accommodation here seems to be highly rated on various travel websites.
