Thorins

An established ‘thirty-​something’ pub/​wine bar, Thorins is one of a now growing number of such places near the Pantiles. A friendly, well policed venue with a large open bar area and further restaurant, it is pleasingly free of the Wetherspoon/​Dav’s crowd and knows it’s target market very well indeed. Always busy, always popular — a TW institution.

En fait j’y ai travaillé au début des années 2000 .
Côté wine bar, une belle ambiance Pub, une salle stylée avec un feu de bois qui crée une atmosphère si chaleureuse .
Côté bouffe, une cuisine fusion, plats typiques britanniques (Écossais, gallois, anglais, irlandais), mais aussi cuisine chinoise et thaï .
Il y a aussi une petite carte snack, sympa pour accompagner une bière, ou pour une petite faim .
Au rez de chaussée, et donnant sur la rue sur le côté, un bar avec ambiance trés chaude à partir de 20h, et seulement ouvert le week-​end, aux dernières nouvelles.

Thorins is a really lovely wine bar and restaurant. I had Christmas dinner here with 10 friends and it was fantastic. The food is great, the service is good and the layout of the place is great.
They cater for everyone from families to couples. Good quality food and reasonably priced.

Only until last year but one, after frequenting Tunbridge Wells for over ten years, I realised I’d never had cause previously to visit Thorin’s.
I went for an early drink on Christmas eve before the full mayhem began. The place wasn’t quite as I expected inside. It a little more down to earth and definitely smaller than I’d expected from the building outside.
Definitely worth a look, since at the end of the day it’s important to try everything oncethough the atmosphere wasn’t outstanding I’m not sure I’ll be back for seconds.
