I go to starbucks on the high street often. The team there are excellent, efficient and friendly and remember what i drink. I hsve never sat in but always see young families and couples in. I’ve not seen any Wetherspoon-esque zombies in there myself to be honest. If you like starbucks coffee you’ll be hard pressed to find a better run one.

This Starbucks is amazing! I am American that has recently moved to Royal Tunbridge Wells with my husband. We still don’t have any internet at our flat, so for the past week I have walked 2 miles just to go to this particular Starbucks to use their internet(and yes, drink coffee)…Yes, I’m a gluten, but my business is the internet and I must work! The thing I love about this Starbucks is the amount of tables and plugs that are open in the daytime during the week… but the best thing is the people who work there! They are some of the friendliest people I’ve met since being in Tunbridge Wells! And this is why I’m writing and giving a review on this particular one… They’re friendly, they serve your coffee and food to you if you’re staying to ‘eat in’,(they don’t do that in the States normally), they always have a smile, and they always ask if there is anything else they can get or do for you when they come to clear your food or coffee away… and all with a SMILE! Thanks you guys for putting up with this girl who walks in on an almost daily basis with her backpack strapped onto her back(computer inside), and always asks for a double espresso to stay… Soon I’ll have my internet up and running at my house and won’t be in as much after that… but for now, I look forward to having you in my temporary office!

More of the same I’m afraid. This branch has a nice enough outside seating area but the inside has those window seats that are seemingly populated by the same bored people that lurk outside ‘Spoons. Zombie-like they watch you wander by whilst trying to drink their disappointing ‘coffee experiences’ or whatever… Inside, the tables are frequently dirty and piled with cups that need to be cleared up. Don’t know why. You know what they sell. Suffice to say it’s too bitter, too expensive and a sorry take on the café culture we all actually would like to see. My mate had an epileptic fit there once. Seriously. I had to fill in a health & safety form which was given to me during his fit. Seriously. Go to Ismael or the real Italian joints in Camden Road instead…
