If you want to start up a teashop and need to know how to serve a cream tea, then go no further. Gary and David have worked so hard maintaining such a high standard over the years. Just up in the Narrows it’s so worth the visit. It’s not usually full of old dears, but foreign tea fans(and German soap series fans too) Even worth the trip down from Harrogate

I can’t believe that I am the first person to review this South Devon institution! Greys is situated in a higgledy piggledy old building at the top of Totnes High Street, so it provids a fitting reward after a day of uphill shopping if you are visiting Totnes. If you are a cake fan(aren’t we all?) you won’t be able to walk past without gasping at the cakes in the window. Now that you’ve stopped, you may as well surrender and go in.(That’s if you are lucky enough to find a table!) Greys bread and butter, so to speak, is tea and cakes. A ridiculously large choice of teas is available, although of course they will offer coffee and soft drinks too. The cakes — well — how does a cream tea made with chocolate scones sound? That’s right — excessive — just as cakes should be. Definitely recommended!
