Riviera Lodge Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Riviera Lodge Hotel. I think by North American standards this would qualify more as a bed & breakfast or at least in my eyes anyway but either way, it’s a really lovely spot.
We were in room number 1 that overlooked the parking lot. The room itself is small yet equipped with a double bed, night tables, wardrobe, desk and chair. There’s not a lot of room to move around… especially in the bathroom.
I should note, there’s no lift so if you’ve got a bit of luggage, consider staying on the first floor (which is only two flights of stairs).
I will say, I was surprised by the breakfast which was included with our room. I expected a continental breakfast, which there was (and a quite extensive one at that) but it also included a full hot breakfast too. So while we ordered our Full English we were invited to help ourselves to the buffet. The selection was fresh and with such a wide variety, there was definitely something for everyone.
I’m only knocking it down half a star because, even through I did book a compact room, it was way smaller than I had anticipated, however, the room was clean and the dining room, sunroom and pool area absolutely beautiful.
I would definitely stay here again… just in a bigger room. :) 4.5 stars.
