We ate here whilst on a 2 day visit to Torquay we only wanted a table for 2 people and it took half an hour to get one we waited in the bar. No one came to find us so we went back, we were sat at our table and orderd some 50 minutes later our mals arrived. If it hadn’t have been so late in the evening I would have left but hey ho, mu husbands onion rings were missing and by the time they finally arrived he had finished his meal, my steak was ordered medium rare but was virtually raw. waitress was charming but not exactly quick on her feet. would I go again ??? Not a hope

Generally very very good, food delicious and staff helpful and friendly. As others have noted children well catered for. Only thing stopping me giving 5* was one experience of ordering the extra thick steak and finding it was thinner than my wifes! on querying this i was told they hadn’t any delivered… they then agreed to not charge me the extra!!! not impressed by dishonesty. However the location is fantastic and a nice pint of Tribute too.

We have a few Family meals at this restaurant and each time its been perfect, The staff have been very pleasant and given our children colouring book, pencils and a ballon, just cant fault the service and the food. If you go during the day they have some great offers and after you can take in the sites of our lovely Torquay sea front

We booked a table for six, including our two year old and five year old, and were immediately impressed with both the spaciousness and size of the table(no chance of clashing elbows). Food was deliciously fresh and crayons and balloons were provided for the children(only a parent will know how welcome this is lol!). Service was friendly and relaxed. One suggestion to staff… might want to check the undersides of the tables for chewing gum. My son found a white splodge and I chose not to investigate too thoroughly lol!

We stayed at the Premier Inn, Torquay and had breakfast at the Beefeater Restaurant the next morning. We have stayed at another Premier Inn and found this one to be far superior altho both were new Premier Inns(so the furnishings were the same). The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, the room was up to Premier Inn’s usual high standard(with freely given extra’s in terms of coffee and milk supplies). We always book a family room(two adults, one two year old and one 12 year old) and never find they give enough towels lol so that was no different but could not fault this Premier Inn otherwise at all. The building itself was a refurbished Georgian hotel I think, and a lot more solid than the usual new build motel and that also made a difference(see size of rooms reference below). Personally I love the décor of Premier Inn rooms altho it may not suit all comers. It tends to be quite modern and clean lined., brown leather and purple in tone(without being brash) but I think that looks good. My teenage son thinks its the ultimate in cool lol. The beds are very comfortable and high lol., sometimes u feel like u might find a stepladder suitable lol. The children are given single beds/cotbeds or put u ups that slide under the main bed. In this hotel my older son had a nice single bed. We had a drink at the in hotel bar later in the evening and again, found the staff very helpful. The Bar was actually quite full(not always the case) and the atmosphere was good(again, not always the case) without being overpowering. The next day we had an excellent if understaffed breakfast as mentioned above(they often seem to run out of crockery and u might have a slight wait for items that have run out as harrassed staff run themselves ragged). The cereal buffet is always first class(including a selection of fruit salad/organic yoghurts etc and toast) as well as a hot breakfast., as much as u like served at your table. The children love the muffins(chocolate and blueberry lol). All in all, we find the Premier Inn offer very good value for money(family rooms are generally £50−60 a night no matter how many people stay — usually cater for two adults and two children). At this hotel our room was more than roomy enough to cater for us(not always the case, it can be a bit squashed).

Since this has just opened we went there to check it out, and also to have a quickish business lunch. BADMOVE! We arrived at 2.20pm and were shown fairly quickly to a table and given menusat 2.40 someone finally arrived to ask if we wanted a drinkat 2.50 he came back to take our order, still no sign of the drinks but we had, by then had time to notice that all the glasses on the table were caked in lipstick and managed to make him understand that we wanted them removed and that the mature lady who was having the diet coke did not wish to drink it out of the bottle with a twirly straw! The starters arrived at 3.10 and were pleasant, the main courses then arrived at 3.30 and were a mixture of pleasant and over cooked, by now we were running out of time before we had to attend to other matters and so declined a sweet and asked for the billthis finally arrived at 3.55. In short;poor service in a dirty restaurant which was far from busy I should add so no obvious reason for the delays especially since everything is pre-portioned and prepared in this business. If you want a decent steak, cooked the way you want it then pay a bit more and go to Mima’s Restaurant just up the road at The Grosvenor Hotel.
