I love this little gem. A fantastic gastro pub on the Thames. Directly opposite Hampton Court. A good menu and a few items are used on the fixed price menu 12.95 two courses or 15.95 three courses A good wine and cocktail menu. Lots of seats inside and if the weather is good there are a load of tables outside. I chose the 3 course starting with salt and pepper squid the sticky chicken ending with apple and blackberry crumble. All this for 15.95!!! Absolute bargain and very tasty

Beautiful setting and very attentive staff. Have been here a few times now and the food has always been great(if a little pricey), but the most recent time I went, was slightly disappointed with the food. The camembert was not melted through and the rare venison one of the party asked for came well-done. Luckily, they were very happy to make a fresh plate, but it meant that our food did not all come at the same time. But overall, I would definitely recommend if you’re willing to splash out a little.

Went for dinner on NYE with my husband upon deciding for a bit of time away from London central and the Albany did the trick. We ordered some rustic bread and starters, the bread was a bit cold, but the olive oil and the starters were nice. My husband had the fish platter starter with savory salmon, mackerel, shrimp cocktail and squid. I think he would have prerred the squid grilled and buttered instead of fried. I had the tomato and goat cheese tart, the cheese was really soft and not too potent. For mains, I had a delicious pan fried sea bass over spinach, beet root and sweet potatoes. It was incredibly well seasoned. My husband had the rustic tart with stilton cheese which just melted in your mouth. For dessert we tried the sampler which included 4 mini puddings. My favorite was the ice cream sandwich. Service was incredibly efficient and the staff was supremely attentive and jovial. The ambiance was lovely as well with low set lighting including holiday decorations. Great pub near Hampton Court that I would recommend.

Fab location on the River Thames opposite Hampton Court. Great outdoor seating with heaters which was great on this chilly evening. The staff are very helpful and efficient. We had a selection of bar snacks, mixed croquettes, lamb koufta with tzatziki, whitebait with a blood Mary sauce and dukkah aubergines, the dishes were delicious. The inside of this gastro pub has great lighting, very modern setting a lovely ambience. Xoxo.

A great location — right beside the Thames, opposite Hampton Court Palace — and nicely decorated and maintained. In warmer times, there is a two level terrace by the river. This review is therefore in two parts: DRINKIING The location and large terrace would rate 4* for summer months; but DINING Although the menu is pretty normal for a «Gastropub», with reasonable portion sizes and prices, the quality of the ingredients are questionable — at a recent visit I had some of the oldest looking Asparagus I’ve ever seen presented. The service also leaves something to be desired, and the scheduling of dining at busy times is chaotic, with empty tables waiting to be cleared for protracted periods yet queues waiting to dine. So a 3* overall rating is as good as I’m inclined to award overall.

Went here for a Christmas party and the staff dealt really well with the group, serving us quickly and responding to various random demands without complaining! I didn’t have particularly high expectations of the food but I had decent pâté to start and actually enjoyed my main course even though I’d gone for turkey which I basically don’t like, because the accompanying vegetables were really good. Dessert was Christmas pudding which was fine although I prefer it with ice cream or cream rather than custard(maybe that’s a massive faux pas on my part…) They also have mocktails, therefore must be a high scorer on my highly technical soft drink alternative five star system!

Nice location although can’t really relax when managers are shouting at members of staff. The Albany has a great location, right on the river with a jetty for boats(the only pub I’ve seen with one). You can sit right by the river and watch the tranquil water flow by while the sun sets over Hampton court grounds, but beware of bird poo as there is a great big tree which overhangs most tables outside and pigeons just love to aim one straight for your head or(even worse) your pint. Fancy paying £4.15 for a Pint of Ice-cold, crisp Peroni and then to have a bird crap into it. I’ve noticed that The Albany is listed as a pub it is not a pub, it is a restaurant with a bar, if it was a pub it would have a bigger bar and serve more real ale. I have been in there on many occasions for a pint, to which I can only seem to afford a couple until I have to get more money out, or turning to card use, as the price is, well, pricey. You may ask But why do you go in there so often if it is so expensive? Many occasion has been spent meeting friends and there most convenient location is the Albany Pub. So how pricey is pricey? £4 a pint is. They did have some nice beer on so I didn’t mind paying £3.60 for Timothy tailors landlord as I could not get it anywhere else, but then they replaced that with Doombar which is very nice ale but I can get that £1.50 cheaper down the road. Good selection of continental largers, but if the brewers found out what mitchells & butler charges for there continental larger they would not believe it! The food is very good and the chefs do a job of making everything nice. Again pricey, but for the quality not as pricey as the beer. The waiters & waitress’ always seem rushed off there feet which is akin to other mitchells & butler experiences. There is never a sign of management on the floor sorting issues, to free up the other staff to get on with their work. It is not uncommon to see a waitress/barstaff crying for one reason or another which made me uneasy and when speaking to a manager they seem to shrug it off. I would describe the Albany as an up market harvester rather than an up market gastro-pub.

Really really lovey gastro pub right on the river. Easy aces to Hampton Court which is on the other side of the river, as you can get a boat across from the Albany. As soon as the sun is out this place win be jam packed. The spit chicken is always a favourite of my sisters on the menu and they always have a good selection of pizza and pasta too. If you can sit outside when the sun is shinty it is a lovely place to settle for the afternoon. Food and drink isn’t the cheapest but I don’t think people mind when the location is excellent.
