Haywards is a proper hardware shop, just as they were in the old days. The staff know what they are talking about and give good advice about what to get and how to use it, and the shop itself is full of the little things you need — screws, washers etc. — as well as larger things such as torches and power tools. Prices are pretty competitive, and it has that wonderful old-hardware-shop or garden-centre smell about it. Very useful, and conveniently on the High Street.

I have lived in Tewkesbury for about 15 years now and Haywards Hardware has been one of the few shops on the High Street that hasn’t gone away. It is a family owned /run store which lends it a slighlty nostalgic feel but unlike some family business’ it doesn’t feel redundant and still has plenty of useful and good quality products on offer. As with any shop they do stock some lower priced and lower quality goods which I have had problems with in the past but this isn’t there fault as you get what you pay for and there custmer service has always been very good if something has gone wrong. They sell a good range of tools, small electrical appliances, camping gear, batteries, garden equipment and normally have what I’m looking for.
