OK. Lately I have turned into a bit of a tight wad, or ‘careful’ as my Mother would have said. However, I feel on this occasion I am more than justified to give the Hilton in Templepatrick one star, in fact not even a star… why??? In the bar they have a Costa Coffee Corner, none of the pastries or food, just a coffee machine, we went in and were charged £3.10 for a bloody coffee!!! THREEPOUNDSTEN!!! For a plain black coffee. I near had a stroke. Not to mention that this wasn’t served in a nice pot with a biscuit, it was in a Costa paper cup and NO biscuit. In the Merchant Hotel a silver service coffee is £2.50 and a free refill. Wont be going there again. Tight arses.

Like a lot of hotels, I can only review this one on the grounds that I went to a wedding here once. There are quite a few venues in the Templepatrick area, but this one is among the best of them. The grounds are simply stunning, and while the fundtion room itself isn’t really anything too special, the food is great, which is probably more important! I’m not sure how expensive it is compared to other venues, but it’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the market. Also, my brother-in-law is a member of the gym up there and he absolutely loves it. I think it’s slightly pricier than a Fitness First or something, but according to him, the quality is better, so it’s probably worth it!

I didn’t really know this hotel existed until I stayed in it for the first time. I went here on the first day of my honeymoon as it was really handy to the airport… Oh I’m jealous of myself… it was just so good… On arrival we were escorted to our room where they had some champagne and tasty treats… tip — Any hotel you ever go to. you may as well try your luck and say your on your honeymoon. Also all hotel guests get complimentary passes to the gym and swimming facilities… awesome!!! I remember going for dinner in the restaurant and I had the pork crackling and it was probably the best meal I have ever had… not kidding it was better than anything… My final great point was that the hotel offer a free taxi to the airport… genius!!!

Although I can’t comment on the accommodation at the Hilton(having never stayed here overnight) I have been in a number of times for some refreshments mid afternoon /early evening and I’ve found the bar to be a pleasant enough experience. I wouldn’t make a habit of it seeing as the prices are hotel standard(i.e. mega bucks!) for example last time I called in we ordered an Americano which was £4.10 and a mocha which was £4.35. I like coffee, but not that much! Particularly as it isn’t even that good… I don’t mind paying for proper, quality drinks but instant coffee mixed with water, isn’t really my cuppa *boom boom* Apart from the over priced drinks the Hilton does actually have a lot to offer. For breaks/stays, drinks, meals, gym, golf etc. Also, I spotted a notice for a liquidation auction recently(being held in the Hilton) and I decided I would call in to see what all the fuss was about(I shouldn’t have bothered I must admit) on the positive side though The Hilton managed to lay the whole thing out very well and have it perfectly organised. Just a pity there wasn’t more worth while stock being sold off. This hotel is close to the airport and so it great for tourists wanting a countryside resort. See my previous review for the complete facilities on offer here.

I went here for my wedding anniversary and stayed overnight in a room overlooking the golf course. We got a deal by looking online then ringing them. «««««««««The meal in the restaurant was brilliant and the best service ive seen from a restarant staff in a long time, ok the drink was overprice but its what i would expect to pay. Sadly we should have prebooked the treatments in the country club attachede before hand as they were fully booked but guests could use the swimming pool and liesure suite at no extra charge. breakfast next morning was a buffet all you could eat and there was everything you could think of very relaxed atmosphere i would def go back here and its not far cfrom the city center to go shopping on the way home

This hotel in Northern Ireland has a great look and sits on a golf course with a putting green and driving range. Nice spa services, workout facilities and swimming pool. I checked in this afternoon and a wedding reception was taking place in one of the buildings. The staff was very friendly and helped get me settled in a bit early. I like the brick interior of the hallways. I enjoyed just walking around the grounds. It was gusty winds and a misty rain in the air, but coming from Arizona, that is a welcome sight. I ordered room service and although it was slightly longer than the 30 minutes they indicated, the food was great. I had the Chicken Tikka Marsala and my friend the beef lasagna with salad. I ordered Coke Zero, but was brought Diet Coke. Not too big of a deal, but not correct. For dessert, I went with the chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream. It also came with chocolate pudding that could be added to the cake. Damn, it was good! Happy finish indeed! The one thing that is a little odd is the bed situation. I ordered 2 queen beds and it more closely resembles two cots with wheels. Let’s just say that you couldn’t really have much fun, if you know what I mean. If you are not overly close with person/people sharing your room, you will be after staying here. While the beds are separate, they are side by side and basically one large bed.

I went to a wedding at this hotel and was far from impressed. The drinks were incredibly expensive, the service was nothing special and we found that the reception was being held in a tiny room in the bowels of the building. The reception area etc has the feeling of an airport, due to the size of the hotel. As a hotel to visit, the Hilton just seems to be too big for its own good and — bearing in mind that it is in the middle of nowhere — there’s no justification for the city centre prices.

I stayed at the Hilton Hotel at the weekend and can I can say I was not all that impressed. The room smelt like a dirty nappy. The layout of the new lounge is very airport like not very comfortable. The service of the staff is very poor. Ordered wine and it took nearly 25 minutes before the waiter remembered our order same. The same thing the next morning at breakfast was told someone would come to offer us tea or coffee and waited about 20 minutes approached a member of staff who was about to set a table and told me they would be with me when they had finished to give them a few minutes. Waited over 15 and then they remembered after i had give them a bit of a glare to remind them. the food in the restaurant was not great and overpriced.

Very nice facilities, with a gym, swimming pool, golf course and driving range. Using the in-room internet will cost you £15 per day. However, you can buy a 90-min voucher from the front desk and use the lobby wifi for £5. For some reasons beyond me, they have one provider for in-room internet access and another for the wifi.

Like most of the Hilton chain, this hotel has high standards. In particuler, being a country club too, the Templepatrick Hilton has a golf club, a swimming pool, gym, bar and restaurant. The Living Well gym is currently being refurbished(Nov/Dec 2008). Originally it was a Trust House Forte hotel when it opened. It’s smart building with many rooms, but never feels anonymous. The staff are welcoming and are pleased to help. If you a are expecting an old style country club with reindeer mounts on the wall, you will be disappointed. Rooms are modern and comfortable, some fitted with desks, though they can be a little on the small side. The restaurant has a good enough quality for food, in my mind the execution is not there, but the carvery is popular with families. Overall it’s a good hotel for this part of the country and is well situated to get to Belfast or Larne.
