we grabbed some grub and a few beers when the world cup was on. the place is rough & ready. the food was ok, but we were over charged, and had to go and ask for a refund.

The savoy is a very popular pub to start your night off in. Great value for money with the drinks and the only downside is that you usually have to queue for about 15 minutes before you actually get served! Better reason to buy more drinks first time round. Food is reasonable too but the same as you expect in any other wetherspoons pub. No music here so its quite ideal for a chat and you can expect to bump into a lot of people you know if you’re from Swindon.

Busy J D Wetherspoon venue with all the expected attributes. Was previously a cinema, so it’s a large venue with a long bar. Drinks very cheap, always a large selection of real ales available. Atmosphere — well it doesn’t really have one, it’s a kind of drinking hall. Beer reasonably well kept, staff young and inexperienced, often takes a while to get served. Great value for money though. It has a standard chain pub food menu, although I’ve never eaten there.

I like this chain and this location in particular. Its cheap and gets the job done but with no ambiance whatsoever. You get what you pay for I guess.
The coffee is Lavazza and the food is cheap standard pub grub.
They sell Koppaberg cider by the bottle which is nice.
The crowd is varied and the staff are okay– not bad but not that friendly either.

This is a must go place to start off your night in swindon, The drinks are SO cheap and its has a really nice atmosphere as you can sit and have a chat with your friends before moving onto the noisey clubs. The food in here is also nice and good value for money as it is again very cheap!

Located in the town centre, The Savoy is a pub for meeting friends at the start of a night out. The seating area is very vast (it used to be a multi screen cinema complex). The drinks are cheap and the meals are nice for what you pay. The only downside is that there is no natural light at the back near the bar so at times it is a bit dark and dingey. The toilets are always kept clean and tidy. Staff are pleasant and friendly.

This in my opinion is the best Wetherspoon’s in Swindon! Perfect place to meet up to start the night. The drinks are cheap, and they have a massive selection.
I really enjoy the beer/​ale festivals that are held through out the year. The food is good, one or two things to avoid. A beer and a burger for a fiver is the best value!
