Great little pub (emphasis on the little!) set out in the country near Hook. Previously called the Butcher’s Arms. Reasonable ale selection, but best known for its live music. Get there early if you want standing room in the bar, it’s tiny! A great experience though, and often some interesting bands on show.

Riffs bar is to be found on a country road outside of Wootton Bassett and Swindon. It is a live music venue and in the past has won the music pub of the year award. But where it is set is not the sort of place you would usually expect to find a live music venue. I would have expected to find this sort of place in a city centre. It’s on a main bus route though, so is easily accessible. It is quite cramped but it is a friendly pub. They have some great bands there and some of them are even free. Pendragon did a weekend event there back in the summer prior to starting their tour. It’s well worth a look and if you want food they do basic bar meals.
