Friendly staff, very clean room, very good price for family of 4 in 1 room. No frills, but I don’t need them for 1 night. Shower good, bed comfy. Able to have drink in the bar.

Standard issue HI Express situated on the M4 near Swindon. Pretty busy on a Friday night, luckily there is plenty of free parking. Rooms are quite cosy but clean and fresh. There is a kettle for tea and coffee but only a couple of plug sockets to charge gadgets. Rooms sleep 4 at a push. Oddly the lift button is pointing the wrong way up(down) and one of the lifts doesn’t have a button with the 3rd floor on it. Instead it’s an up button. Odd! Notwithstanding a good place to stay for an early getaway to South Wales.

Stayed due to work. First time using a HIE, really impressed. Comfortable beds, soft & firm pillow available, air con, tea/coffee available, TV. Actually had supper there as we’ll really impressed with the food.

Not sure why we were stuck in a room for disabled customers and while we appreciate all the room, there are some items that are a bit low to the ground, which is a bit in convenient since we’re both a bit taller than average. Also have to remember which string is for the light versus the alarm! Here are the Pros: Free Wi-Fi Coffee and Tea Making Facilities Double glazed windows, plus another window which means you hear no noise from the M4 Huge lobby area to lounge in Ice Machine in the lobby Hair dryer in room Air conditioner that works beautifully in this warm weather If you need more coffee/tea or if you have left your toothbrush, razor, feminine products, etc. you can call down to the desk and get some for free Breakfast in the morning(not monitored like other hotels and have a variety of different breakfast items) Here are the Cons: Breakfast in the morning(the hot food selection isn’t that great… beans are fine, eggs were a bit strange, and some of the sausages have been sitting so long that the ends are rock hard) Noise(the doors don’t seem to be as insulated meaning when the people next door are just having a normal conversation, we can hear them through the adjoining door even though they are not being loud) No washcloths(a.k.a. flannels) No luggage rack to put luggage on Only one chair in room No restaurant(they do serve dinner if ordered between 18:00 and 21:00 M-Th, but the menu downstairs only featured pizza) Limited parking Not friendly for pedestrians(there is no crosswalk in order to walk over to the Londis, Costa, Gregg’s, and Subway; you can walk down a side street to the Blagrove Roundabout, cross the street and walk back down the other side, but seems a bit extreme considering it is just across the road) It is a cheaper option and does provide a clean place to stay, but again, not my favourite.

Not really impressed… The room was fine, comfy bed but it was quiet cold and there was that annoying light shining from the hallway underneath the door.(fixed that with a towel) The staff didn’t seem to be up to scrach. I ordered some dinner to take up to my room but an hour later nothing, the must of forgot about it. It was about £90 for one night and the breakfast was well below standard, no hot food at all. I feel that I could if stayed somewhere else for that amount and got more value for my money.
