Pines Hotel

Situated in Victoria Road the Pines Hotel is well situated overlooking Swanage Bay, food and drink first class, good parking, getting to to beach is easy, at the beach there are toilets and a great café run by Marlene. Well worth a visit.

I was here for a family event this week (Feb ¹⁵⁄₁₆). This turned out to be a very pleasant sea side hotel. I had a small room with a comfortable bed, nicely appointed shower and rest of bathroom.
I felt pretty confined — I am a largish person and the room wasn’t big enough to swing a cat in.
It was much too warm when I checked in. But that was easily remedied.
Coffee, tea and biscuits of course in the room.
Nice breakfast too. Traditional English done nicely.
Dinner in the restaurant was nice. Nothing to write home about, but competently done. Chicken wasn’t dry!!!
I do like to go to the seaside places off-​season. So much less crowded — and I get the sleepy atmosphere of my childhood down here in Dorset.
