well good, good food, good service, good store

Sainsbury’s is located just on the outskirts of Swadlincote town centre. It has a petrol station, recycling facilities and a decent sized car park. Not the biggest Sainsbury’s, but it is due for an expansion in the near future, which will see the demise of the local Home Electric shop, as the store expands and the petrol is moved to improve access.
The store although fairly small, has a good variety of products including a fruit and veg section, a meat and fish counter, a bakery and a delicatessen area. The store is well set out and always well stocked and tidy, which is the main failing of other local supermarkets. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the shopping experience is pleasant and relaxing. This Sainsbury’s also has a small café area, with a variety of seating, including leather sofas. It has a small, but tasty selection of food and cold drinks. But I don’t know what they do to the hot drinks, the coffee and tea taste so bad, they are barely drinkable! This is probably my favourite supermarket and we go in valiantly trying the coffee every week in the vain attempt it will get better, but it doesn’t. In every other aspect this is a five star supermarket, but the hot drinks could be so much better.

This is a good size supermarket and they have a lot of choice, their own brand products are a lot cheaper and just as good as the main brands. They do have some great special offers on so I really only tend to shop there then. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The demise of this store was the new Morrisons opening in the town. Before that this store used to be regularly rammed with people. It is quite a small store but still stocked the core brands and ranges. Good quality food especially the fruit and veg together with an excellent deli counter and butchery counter.
Although a compact store stock levels are well maintained and it is very rare that they actually run out of anything.
It has friendly and polite staff with good car parking facilities by way of a large private car park. It also has an indoor café which is never too busy to sit down for a coffee or light lunch at very reasonable prices.

The size of this store is quite good although not as big as the one in Burton On Trent. The store stocks good quality products and good varieties. The fruit and vegetables are fresh and the bakery is always producing fresh bread and cakes, although after a certain time they do stop baking. There is a meat and fish counter again with an excellent variety. The only drawback is that because there are not many supermarkets in swadlincote they can be expensive and are not pushed to be competitive with their prices. It would be better if they did hot meat and poultry to compete with the local morrisons. The store is not too cramped and has a nice café.

medium size supermarket. once had the self scanners where u scanned your shopping and put it in your bags and passed the scanner over to the till person and paid. now been removed to another store shame though usedto love doing it as u knew how much u had spent before u got to the till.
