My salsa friend and I ended up here on a Friday before our salsa class. The interior is something to behold with an amazing painted ceiling like you would see in some Italian churches — apparently, a painter came over from Italy to paint it. With the friendly restaurant name, I was hoping for a family atmosphere but the service remained efficient rather than warm. When asked about any house specialities, the waiter seemed rather reluctant. We shared an asparagus gratin to start — some asparagus spears with melted cheese. The components were nice but not sure that putting them together enhanced things. For mains, I had calf’s liver in butter and sage, a traditional dish. The liver was cooked well and nicely seasoned but the accompanying vegetables less so, I’m afraid. My friend’s fish was«OK». We then had a slght problem extracting the bill and paying it. This solved my wavering between 3 and 4 stars. The view from the outside promised much but sadly, it was only an average dining experience.
