The Gate Inn

Good beer, lovely staff and good management. The locals are very friendly. Generally a good craic. Always find someone to have a chat with there.

I popped in The Gate today to use their toilet and grab a quick pint but decided to leave after using the loo as it was a bit dull and the bar staff were just sort of lurking about, staring. The pub was busy out the front but didn’t have the kind of atmosphere I was after and I would have felt uncomfortable had I stayed.

I was holding some coats standing near the door and saw some darts on the table near the dart bord. While my girlfriend was in the toilet i wondered the follow things.
1) If i use one of the darts, is whoever owns the darts going to see and be mad
2) This place looks unfinished
3) I wonder how long it would take to kill my self with a dart
4) The bar tender looks 10 years old, i wonder if hes standing on a box behind the counter to be able to see over the surface.
I took a walk around the bar area and was shocked at how small it was overall, everyone was outside and i started to wonder if they all came into the pub its self, would they all fit.
From the outside it looks promising, the inside needs a lot of work. We decided not to stay for a drink and left.
