Ramada Jarvis Hotel

Very nice hote in a lovely setting. It used to trade and be known as the Pennes Hall hotel for whatever reason now called Ramada.
Great for weddings and functions.

I stayed here just before Christmas, taking advantage of a special offer. The entrance to the hotel gives it a luxurious feel, far better than driving up to a Travelodge or somewhere! There’s a long drive leading to a huge car park. There’s plenty of free car parking space available. On entering the hotel, it seems really posh, reception is quite swanky and the hotel décor is really nice. The hotel itself is huge, we got lost a couple of times finding our way from our room back to reception! We stayed in a standard room, it was very spacious, comfy bed, flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities all provided. The bathroom was big, with a shower and a bath. We took advantage of the Health Club which is free for hotel guests to use. The pool looks gorgeous and the pool side jacuzzis are great for relaxing. There’s also a sauna and steam room. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but decided to order some room service. The food arrived in about 15 minutes, was very well presented & was delicious.
The next morning we went for breakfast (£7 per person if booked in advance). This was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had! I would definitely recommend if you stay here, do not miss the breakfast! There was a wide selection of cold and hot food, including freshly cooked pancakes. There were mini muffins, danish pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, sausage, bacon, eggs. so much food! The food was buffet style self service, but tea and toast were brought to your table.
Service was very efficient, professional and friendly at the hotel.
Overall a great place to stay, for a weekend break or longer.

There are so many rooms in this hotel the standards can be a little inconsistent, but expect a 3 star and you shouldn’t be too wide of the mark.
A good reason to consider this hotel is to host a party. Its obviously a big part of their business and they’re very good at it. The Penns Lake Suite is a great size for a party of about 60 and the best feature of this room is the lakeside terrace that surrounds the room.
There’s also a basic gym and a pleasant indoor pool to enjoy during your stay.
