Cock Inn

Excellent meal tonight, deli sharer starter was very tasty and the ale jelly something special. Mains of steak for my wife, off the specials menu and I had rack of lamb. Sticky toffee pudding and poached pear to finish. Well rounded and flavoursome menu.

This a great pub and has a really great interior to relax in. Always busy and at weekends you need to book for dinner, popping in just isn’t going to get you a table. We’ve eaten several times and it’s been consistently very good; even the Sunday lunches. 4 stars from me is unusual.

The Cock Inn is placed in the village of Wishaw. It used to be a very traditional pub but went upmarket a few years ago and now it’s considered a bit pricey these days. Although food is really good up there, the drinks are also above average for the area.
The fact is that The Cock Inn is a really good pub and it’s probably one of my favourites visited in that locale.
For some many reasons, starting with its décor, and its touch of rustic style with some colourful rooms. That is modern for a country kind of pub. Secondly, its beer garden that is magnificent. If the weather helps, it’s likely to be packed.
As I quite enjoy the idea of sharing meals, The Cock Inn seems to guess exactly what the customer is looking for. The menu in this pub is not economic in price or in options. From pizza to what it’s called leaves and can be translated as veggie meals, The Cock Inn caters for all public. Honestly, their fixed price meal are not that bad and maybe because its fame of pricey establishment, they’re trying to attract more varied pockets.
The list of drinks, wines and beers are also vast. This is a pretty popular and busy pub during the evenings and according to some locals, a lot of people also use this bar for a «pre-​club-​bar» before trekking to The Bell Air Nightclub at the Belfry Golf complex. Posh indeed!

Normally a lovely place to meet and dine. Tonight, we were kept waiting 30 mins after we were told our table would be ready, our delightful waitress slammed everything in front of us, our meals arriving within minutes and before our drinks. My boyfriend had grease from his meal spilled down his jumper with no word of apology and we had to ask for condiments (is vinegar such an unreasonable request when you’ve had chips?) to be slammed down before us. We’d chosen The Cock at Wishaw as a good place to meet a friend from Sydney. Big mistake, shan’t eat here again.

This is a lovely pub full of history and the décor is great. Its a very busy pub so booking is a must in the evenings when the staff and the food is brilliant. Do have to say i visited at lunch time which is much quiter, the staff levels are much lower, and the food was very hit and miss. They did try to make amends.

I love this place, the ambience is fantastic, the staff are friendly but not intrusive, and food is fantastic, a little on the expensive side but worth it as a special treat

This is one of my favourite pubs in the Midlands, situated in a scenic part of Sutton Coldfield.
Bar staff & customers are always very friendly, and you can have a nice evening without worrying about any fights breaking out!
Great in the winter with the open log fire.

Nestling in the beautiful countryside the Cock Inn would appeal to anyone. The menu is as relaxed as the ambience and the service is personal and friendly. The interior is superb and provides another good reason to spend time at The Cock Inn.
The real pull of this place is the suculant food, which is always cooked to perfection. This rates up there as one of my favourite restaurants in Birmingham.
