Going here is an experience. It’s not pretentious, don’t expect 5 star restaurant as it’s a chip shop and well it’s in Stoke. The food is amazing though. It’s a mom and pop shop. Best fish and chips I ever had. Why? Because everything is fresh. The chips aren’t from frozen potatoes, but fresh potatoes just peeled and ready to be fried. The owner is the most friendliest, energetic, happiest man alive. As it says on the menu, you’ll always be greeted with a warm friendly welcome. He’s insane! He’ll go around asking if everyone is alright, always a smile on his face while he’s making your food. Fish is his life. He even goes fishing whenever he can. This is why he has so many loyal patrons as I used to see the same people come in daily. So the battered cod is fried perfectly into a nice golden crust. It’s not drenched in oil. I have it with chips over gravy. Drool. They do have tartare sauce(as every American needs with fish), just have to ask. Steak and onion pie with chips, yum. There is one thing I cannot eat, and I can vouch for every American, we cannot eat mushy peas. What in the world? It’s something seniors eat because they’ve lost their teeth. But everything else is great. I should say the man who cooks this awesome food is my uncle and I’ve had the pleasure to see how he operates and it’s amazing. He’s just so go happy even when he goes home.
