New temporary landlord the last was wanting to go for quite a while we have seen better.
First night did not look too good, could be fresh staff and management .Will have to see what future holds.

For a cheap carvery the Caldwell Tavern can’t be beaten on price. At less than £4 you certainly get value for money.
The food whilst basic is hot, the kitchen clean (I asked to check) and the service prompt.
Finding a table at peak times can be a pain, and the cleanliness of the tables is not always great.

Worse meal ever, Caldwell Tavern Never again, at this place, dirty tables as you enter everywhere. the food was, WELL we LEFT, It was that bad. Tried to complain, but they were not interested. there customers should complain more, instead of putting up with dog food, This is the worse pub in stoke-​on-​trent, am sure of it. head office has been informed, but i wont hold my breath…

Very cheap and cheerful, but definitely not reflected in the quality of the food.
I was very impressed the first time we came here, which was only because we were hungry, and coming back late with no food in the house we had no choice but to find anywhere serving food!
Since then we’ve been back about once a month, and enjoy being able to get a decent meal and a drink each for less than a tennerand quite often eating so much we dont even need anything for tea!
It has a large car park, and although it has an outside seating area, the view of a busy junction and all the associated fumes dont exactly make it an romantic ourside meal to be honest!

OMG this is wonderful and the best carvery in town next to taybarns lol .
The food here is fresh and tastes yummy its really cheap in the day but i think its a bit more in the evening and at weekends .
The staff here are brill and always seem happy.
The pub its self isnt just good for food but its even good for a quite drink .
There is a large car park and the pub its self is sparkling clean.
The only problem is they need to cater for more people has there isnt enough seat and tab shame.
