We love the Tavern. I moved to the Norton Area 12 years ago and before then lived near Durham, I was spoilt for good eating places there.
I love real food and this is what you get from the Norton Tavern, their mixed grill is fantastic and real chips. Service is really good staff are always smiling and want to please you. I have taken my little ones there and they loved it.

Excellent and in walking distance from my house. The kids meals are £2.50 including ice cream and they are of very high quality. In January 2011 they are doing a promotion of 3 course for 2 people for £10.95!
The wine is a little expensive but in all a great pub.

Had heard previous poor reviews when friends suggested the Tavern for a get together and meal. Have to say that we were pleasantly suprised and all 6 of us enjoyed our meal. I can recommend the fish risotto — very tasty.
Service was good with the young waitress very helpful and attentive. Prices were average, I paid around £12 for my main course — will definitely return.
