Marks & Spencer

Visited in August 2009 and found a total dump of a shop. Dirty carpets held together with adhesive tape. Ceiling tiles grubby and held up with screws. Plastic trays holding up food displays. A total mess of a place. When I sent an e-​mail to customer services, they replied with the usual ‘We are sorry you did not find our services to your satisfaction but we aren’t going to do anything’ letter.

Not enough of the Limited Collection range on offer in this shop. I guess that the Stockport store is catering for an older audience but they should remember that some younger people live here too! This store is guilty of that musty, old fashioned image that M&S are trying hard to throw off.

Marks and Spencer in Stockport is quite a large department store in the centre of town situated next to River Island and Wooolworths.
On the basement floor there is food, flowers and home items. You can also order food to order such as cakes or buffets. They have quite a large selection of food and the sandwiches are always well stocked. I love M&S sandwiches!
On the ground floor you will find womens clothing with brands such as per una and then on the first floor its mens and childrens clothing. There is also a small café on the first floor selling cakes, sandwiches, toasties, and baked potatoes.
the staff are usually helpful and there are quite a lot of tills so that it doesn’t get too busy.
