The Stanwell Heathrow Hotel

After our flight out of Heathrow got cancelled, we needed accommodations for a night and luckily The Stanwell still had some rooms available.
We were staying in room 23 which was a decent size and featured a comfortable kingsize bed that accommodated us 3 easily.
The bathroom was quite spacious as well. No tub, but the shower was great so no complaints here. Everything was clean and there was also some free tea and coffee making equipment.
We also took advantage of their in-​house restaurant to have dinner.
I ordered a beef burger with cheese (same as my husband) which came with fries and a side salad. For dessert we shared the marzipan pear pastry.
Junior opted for the spaghetti kids meal that came with garlic bread and included ice cream for dessert.
The food actually exceeded my expectations. Since I was not able to order the burger medium rare, I had prepared myself for the worst ;), but the burger was really decent and not dry at all. The portion size was quite big too — I was not able to finish all of my meal.
I also have no complaints about the service. Our waiter was friendly and efficient.
All in all this was a pleasant stay (especially considering the circumstances) and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of a decently priced hotel close to the airport.

My wife and I came here to find Cream Tea near Heathrow Airport. They did an excellent job! Freshly made scones and clotted cream, strawberry jam aplenty and a pot of tea for only £6.50 a person.
