Star & Garter

pub recently went under revamp and change with younger management now a tidy town pub with a reasonable garden. Staff are friendly and helpful and seems busy times I have been in. Particularly busy when football on.

This is a pretty good pub, I’ve only been in here a couple of times but my mam goes regularly The drinks are a good price, and its a nice place to sit and chill out.
They have various nights such as karaōke and live music. There are pool tables, but be careful if people are already playing because some of the locals often do winner stays on!
No Sky TV, and there seem to be management changes at the moment. Nice place to go for an early drink on the way to town, and I’ve also heard the food is ok.

I’ve walked past this pub countless times. I didnt think it was my kind of place because it always had karaōke nights adversitsed on the blackboards so I never gave it a chance.
Last night I met some friends that were out playing pub golf, they told me that the next stop was the star & garter so I finished my drink and headed down there the pub golfers got distracted by wetherspoons on the way which is probably a good thing because they were all quite rowdy.
This pub seemed really nice though, the drinks wernt very expensive, there was plenty of comfy seating with some cushions lying around too. The barman was friendly. When one of my friends knocked his pint over it wasnt a big deal at all, the barman just cleared it up and was like ‘no worries, everybody makes mistakes’. Lovely atmosphere, I really likes italthough I dont know how great the atmosphere would be on the karaōke night.
