25 of us headed to no.5 recently for a joint birthday party. We were seated in an upstairs room on a very long table(with 1 seat short! Which they soon sorted out). We opted for the set menu, which was really cheap at £20 per head. Most main courses were around £15. There was a range of starters, mains and puddings including vegetarian options, fish, beef chicken, duck, etc. I ordered beer battered prawns with a lemon grass dip — these were really yummy and came with a fair bit of salad. Main course I had roast duck with some kind of sauce(I can’t remember what), it was really sweet and YUMMY! The sauce really made the course, hehe. Pudding was a bit dodgy. They had run out of most things on the set menu pudding list, so allowed us to order anything from the a la carte pudding menu. I had baileys and white malteser cheesecake. Which was OK, but I’m not a huge fan of cream and this was SERIOUSLy creamy! Also the maltesers were milk choc rather than white, not that i’m milkchocolate-ist, but I really fancied the white ones. Overall a fantastic meal, this opinion was shared by almost all of our party. Staff were very friendly and helpful, service was quick and organised and the restaurant was lovely!
