As per my annual visit to St. Ives, I couldn’t not visit my favourite chippy here, The Albatross. It’s very affordable, and whilst appearing cheap and cheery, the staff are genuinely friendly and really do appear to go all out to make their customers happy which makes all the difference, alongside the food tasting good! They made my food fresh to order, too.
There is a small sit-in section at the back of the shop if you don’t wish to take out, but this is at an additional cost of £1 per person.
My recommendations to anyone who’s unsure of whereabouts to get your fish and chips, even if the location is a little bit hidden away, it’s worth it.

Fantastic fish and chip shop/café where the staff will really put in that extra effort to make you happy. They need to be good as they don’t have as prime a location as the shops along the front for example. This place (bad joke impulse successfully resisted) is worth tracking down.
Besides the oh so tasty, but not so healthy fish and chips, there are some healthy options too. You can get some veg if you want to look after yourself (not sure if they do sprouts in a cone to go though, I’ll have to ask next time).
In the back they have a few tables and this is an ideal place to add a hot drink to your meal and pass a lazy hour or two with a book or a paper
