Waitrose

I am spoilt for choice in my local town as there is every supermarket you could ask for but Waitrose is the best in my opinion. The product range is fantastic, the staff very helpful and friendly and also knowledgeable so it seems. On the one occasion the store did not have what I needed, the staff member actually told me how to make it myself which I then did which was great.

Large store with good selection of John Lewis homewares. Obviously pricier than normal supermarkets but has a good selection of quality foods –you get what you pay for. Also has a lovely café.

A good shop with petrol pump facilities, and easily located, Waitrose also has excellent parking, and the place is always so clean.
Waitrose’s slogan is good food, honestly priced, and for me, this was like when Prince Charles said that food was too cheap.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that they stock expensive food at expensive prices, I’ve never yet seen Beluga Cavier at £10 a pound, but it’s that they stock products that I can get at other super-​markets for cheaper, especially with the age of internet shopping on us.
The staff are always very helpful though, and the shop has a very relaxed atmosphere about it for a super-​market, and you don’t feel stressed to the point you just want to charge around the store and get out.
Because of it’s size, Waitrose offers an excellent range of food, drink, media, and much more, and they’re always fully stocked, even with their special offers and promotions.

I find it hard to fault this store. There are always parent and child parking spaces available. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for. The staff are always exceptionally helpful — though I have to say that constantly being asked for ID to buy alcohol when I am 36 gets wearingno other store ever asks me so I can’t look that young. There is a good range of food, toys, baby accessories and now clothes. However my husband’s favorite part of the store is their cooked chickens — has become part of the Sunday ritual now!
The restaurant is good but again very expensive. It is always busy and a pleasant environment to meet friends in.

I like Waitrose, but I do not love Waitrose!
The disabled parking is convoluted to access.
Not on regular route and have to want something special to go there.

Good shopping experience. More expensive but worth it for the occasional visit. Lovely restaurant. Can book cooking lessons. Staff are excellent. Quality food and products. Toys are good prices.

Food is good but used to be a lot better. Not so much selection of hot meals. Useful if just finished shopping but not rushing back. Place is very clean and staff helpful and polite.

Excellent food shopping and the restaurant does a mean meal too! Nice and clean all round the shop makes you feel as though they care about the food they sell. Lots of staff on hand to help if you need it and disabled customers can use the scooters in store for their use. There is a wonderful cake countert selling everything with a million calories and over! Clean toilets in store and cheap petrol from their Petrol Station across the road makes for a smashing place to shop where you don’t feel you have been ripped off! Good value for money.
