I would like to have scored The Beach Hut higher, but we did have a few niggles. I do appreciate that this is a very new business at the time of writing and hope that these comments will serve to inform the reader and inspire the owner. When we arrived, The Beach Hut was in some disarray, with the re-arranging of tables, presumably from a recently dispersed larger party. This was not a problem, as to be expected on a sunny day, however, having never been here before and not knowing the procedure — do we sit and wait for a full table service? or do we grab menus, find a table and then place our order at the bar? — we made an enquiry and were dealt with quite abruptly. After seating ourselves — please note, this is a full table service establishment — we duly looked over the menu. For about 15 minutes. Once our order was finally taken, we received our drinks and food orders promptly. Whilst our main dishes were lovely, our«bucket of chips», served in a delightful little grey pail, were slightly undercooked. Also, as I do not eat meat for health reasons, I was slightly disappointed by the vegetarian choices and finding a small piece of ham under my salad. Despite this, the main was very enjoyable. The presentation of the food was superb, with some of the dishes going to other customers looking absolutely amazing in their displays. The décor was also very pleasant, making the most of the sea-view. The main issue here, and again I stress that this is a fledgling business that I do hope can only improve, is a significant display of the left hand and the right hand not really knowing what the other is doing and seeming to clash. In my own experience, even in a small establishment, wait staff have set areas or table numbers that they must deal with. This did not seem to be the case here, as there seemed to be confusion generated between the staff. As a further note, I will be returning to The Beach Hut, to see what changes have occurred and will happily amend or append my review as required.
