Its a wine bar not a pub first thing to say. Its nice and trendy and will be loved by women but if you are a person looking for a decent pint avoid all they have is expensive lagers. It is full of datk furniture and leather seats and little side lamps and ever so nice candle holders enough said :)

This place always feels unusual from the moment you walk in. As an old courtyard, it has been built in the rustic outdoor feel carrying through inside and it works. The sumptious sofas cause my back a problem, but that is me, particularly when it is my round. The upstairs is an interesting place for a private party or where I was involved in a company dooo!
Clarence Yard, although very central Southend, is not on the normal pub crawl or pre clubber agenda, which makes it a pleasant change from the norm.
