An old pub with the guts ripped out to serve the holiday beach trade. Dirty without any character and in need of a serious upgrade. It does serve real ale but take my advice and stick to the lager.

Pint stop between Thorpe Bay and Southend was the Britannia, not the worst pub along the way but far from the best.
Quick pint stop, pretty much a average run down pub right on the ocean.

A PROPER pub, good regular drinkers inhabit this drinkery. Beer excellent. Atmosphere real good chats at bar helpful staff. cute manageress. Some seats outside. Best chippy in town next door (Baileys). What more could you want. Best to walk there not good parking. Beer Garden out back.
