I’ve been here several times and I have never been disappointed. I am Lithuanian by heritage, not Polish, but many of the dishes on the menu remind me of my childhood in Toronto growing up in the Polish/Eastern European enclave. I am a slave to pierogies and cannot get enough of them. When I first went to Stacja there was only the shop couple doors down from Stacja that had any sort of Eastern European food. Luckily there has been more shops opening up, but Stacja is still the place to go if you want it cooked right. The ambiance of the restaurant is fairly generic, rather frugal looking, but the food is cooked simply and well. The wait staff are Polish as are the cooking staff, and it reminds me of the food I ate when visiting the Suwalki region of Poland back in the 1988. The cocktails are wunderbar as well. Took some friends here and they couldn’t get enough of the Tequila Sunrises. Nor of the fact that there is a pool table in the middle of the restaurant. So whilst digesting all the scrummy food you can hit a few balls. I would recommend this place. The sausages, pierogies, soups, breads, salads, and saurkraut are out of this world.
