I agree with 1st reviewer, (second one was much to harsh). Very casual, inexpensive, good sized portions and good food. I love the architecture of the building. It definitely looks old. Bartender was very friendly, food was good, kids enjoyed it as well as the adults with their pints! This was my favorite pub on our vacation.

Typical pub fare. The food was edible and they serve very large portions for the price paid. The atmosphere was a little disappointing considering it is the oldest pub in Southampton. Architecturally it is appealing and very interesting but the lighting leaves a lot to be desired. The wall sconces are just bare bulbs and they’re very bright. Other than that, this pub is worth popping in for at least a pint even if it is just to tick the «I’ve been to the oldest pub in Southampton» box.

Old 12th century pub with plenty of history maybe even a few spooks. Great place to stop and have a pint. Standard pub fair menu… Definitely recommend stopping in
